17 Weeks

I'm being really slack with these. I think we have second-child syndrome happening already - with Princess I took photos of the bump every week like clockwork and itemised my symptoms. Now it's a bit old hat!

I'm feeling good. My weight is steady around 70kg. I get the odd sciatica twinge or nosebleed but it's not bad. I can't feel the baby yet but that's probably because my placenta is in the front this time and forms a cushion.

I'll try to take photos and measurements next week!

Update: my bump is 89cm, 2cm less than last time I measured! That makes no sense, as my bump is definitely bigger... I wonder if I've been losing back-fat? Bizarre.

Walking - almost!

Princess has decided she likes being "walked" from one end of the house to the other repeatedly... it's rough on our backs but she really enjoys it!

16 Weeks, and Your Princess Fix

All going well. I've lost a little weight again and my bump feels bigger, although I haven't measured it. I had a checkup last week and all is progressing as it should.

Mom and Princess have bonded like crazy, and while we haven't exactly been hectically busy we have been doing lots together. We visit the pool twice a week, we've been to the zoo, and we visit the park and take walks along the river. Mom and I set up a furniture "obstacle course" every day and tempt Princess to cruise along it with books and biscuits! She's getting quite good at it now, and has started demanding to "walk" from one end of the house to the other too.

When Princess naps we read books or garden, and it is very chilled. Mom's extremely easy to live with (even Milord says so!).

15 Weeks

15 Weeks fell on my birthday.

I had a very nice birthday this year - Princess was in an even lovelier mood than usual and Milord and Mom spoiled me. I got a Kindle and a Kichenaid mixer, which are both very exciting in rather different ways! In the morning Milord took us for brunch, I had a 2 hour nap in the afternoon while the others looked after Princess (bliss), and that night Mom babysat and Milord and I went out for dinner for the first time this year.

I don't think I could have asked for a better day!

Milord has been off his diet for a week (he broke 100kg last Friday) and intends to go back onto Lite n Easy 5 days a week starting Monday. In the meantime he jokes that he's eating and drinking as much as possible while he can. This would be funnier if it wasn't true!

I'm allowing myself one glass of wine a week now that I'm in my second trimester. This still means that I watch the others boozing 99% of the time, and it is just as annoying as last pregnancy... and if I had an extra bedroom to get away from Snorey McWinebreath I'd be a lot happier! *sigh*

Weight at conception: 74.5kg
Weight at 15 weeks: 70kg
Loss/Gain since last week: -0.5kg
Total Loss/Gain: -4.5kg

Thigh: 57cm (no change)
Waist: 91cm (no change)

My bump feels harder and more pronounced, and I've lost a little more weight. I think I'm eating less often than last time, as looking after Princess and snatching meals is quite different to grazing at a desk all day! I still need the odd nap, especially since we've been having relatively late nights with a visitor in the house. Luckily no one minds me wandering off for a lie down when Princess is napping!

Granny's Here

Princess is in heaven!

14 Weeks

A bit late - I've been frantically getting ready for Mom's arrival tomorrow! While my house is never disgusting I do have a relaxed attitude towards dust. And the inside of ovens and fridges. And my Christmas lights were still up outside the front. And the laundry needed a spring clean. *sigh* I really hate housework. I do it, but I hate it!

Plus we'll be taking Princess into our room while Mom gets over jetlag so I've moved everything around to fit in a cot. And rearranged Princess' room so that it's nice for a grownup to live in for a month.

Just a lick of dusting and a thorough vacuum left to do and we're ready. Mom lands at 7:15am tomorrow and we can't wait! I've had photos of Mom on slideshow on our digital photoframe for the past week: "There's Granny! Say Granny. Granny. Granny. Where's Granny?"

Princess can now identify her Granny and say "Nanny", which is very cute and may well stick. I've always wondered why so many grannies were called "Nan" and "Nanny", and it must be because the "gr" sound is very hard for babies. Princess has pretty good enunciation, but "r" and "w" are still mostly beyond her.

On the subject of our impending addition, things are going great. I'm staying the same weight while my bump is growing and I'm nearly out of all normal non-stretch trousers and shorts. I'm now at the stage where I'm too big for normal clothes and too small for my maternity wear...

Weight at conception: 74.5kg
Weight at 14 weeks: 70.5kg
Loss/Gain since last week: 0kg
Total Loss/Gain: -4kg

I didn't get around to measuring my bump and thighs this week...

Other preggy symptoms: nosebleeds (when I wash my face), itchy moles, dodgey bladder when sneezing, the odd tingle/stab in my boobs... that's about it.

Your Princess Fix

Princess has discovered cuddling Teddy (she's actually saying "Cuddle!" here),

read books with Daddy,

played with post-it notes with a little "help" from Mummy,

and experienced finger paint for the first time! (She thinks it's a bit messy at the mo)

13 Weeks

Not much new to say here since my last post...

Weight at conception: 74.5kg
Weight at 13 weeks: 70.5kg
Loss/Gain since last week: -0.5kg
Total Loss/Gain: -4kg

And I suppose I'd better start recording these too:
Thigh: 57cm
Waist: 91cm

They're both definitely smaller than at conception as I can fit into trousers now that I couldn't a few months ago.

That waist measurement is 4cm more than this time in Princess' pregnancy. I was a lot fitter then (and had been doing sit-ups like mad to hide my pregnancy!), and my tummy has never quite recovered from preggy #1, so I guess that makes sense. The thigh measurement is the same as it was back then.

Interesting to be the same weight and thigh circumference as last time!

Drumroll Please...

I have awesome news! I am 12.5 weeks pregnant, and today we had a scan that was "as good as it is possible to be" so I guess it is safe to tell you now...

The baby is due on the 1st September, I'm feeling pretty good now that the first trimester is over, and life is peachy. Oh, and if you've been reading my blog and wonder how I got through Christmas and New Years - I faked drinking and no-one noticed!

I've been writing posts about my pregnancy on the sly, which I will now reveal. If you want to read them all together then click here and read from the bottom up!

And some pics. I decided the "bra and knickers" shots from my last pregnancy were a bit too... revealing... so I'll try to take these in the same dress all the way. You can make out my bump just fine, without being assaulted by the cellulite!
